What can you do?

My intention with this project is to gently encourage you to act, in whichever way you feel suits you best. Find some ideas below.

Head out.

Stop and think: you probably know someone who might be struggling, and could do with a chat. A friend, a family member, a colleague, a neighbour.

Reach out to that person, and suggest heading out together. Perhaps on an epic overnight cycling trip through hills and valleys, or a short wander through your local park. Either way, it’s about connecting in nature.

Donate.

Donating to a non-profit that tackles mental health issues is a great way to support people outside of your circle of family and friends. I’d recommend two organisations in particular:

  • The Happier Lives Institute: A charity that searches for the best ways globally to improve human happiness. This includes funding bold ideas, often in low-income countries, that make the biggest difference with your donations.

  • Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM): A charity that provides support for anyone affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts.

Recommend.

If the podcast encouraged you to think and act differently, there’s a chance it may have a similar impact on others.

The lifeblood of projects like these are word-of-mouth recommendations. I’d appreciate you sharing the podcast or website with those around you.
