Where did I go?
All over the land!
I spent several months travelling up and down the UK, meeting up with friends in their closest national park or national landscape.
In the majority of cases, we travelled by bike, often spending one or two nights on the road. I hiked with a handful of friends, and even spent one beautiful day in a kayak on the River Thames.
Some of these places I knew well, others were ones my friends helped me discover. One passing observation I made during my trips is that the UK is an incredibly diverse place, with world-class landscapes that deserve more attention.
It comforted me that there’s still a feeling of wilderness tucked away in places that are surprisingly close to urban areas across the country. I hope the detailed maps I provide in each of my adventure write-ups will inspire you to explore some of these routes yourself.
Happy exploring!
